Nevertheless, recognizing the ever-changing landscape of business, Alghanim Industries sought Valtech's expertise to bolster its digital presence and revolutionize customer experiences. 

Xcite's digital makeover: unleashing performance and scalability

The cornerstone of this transformation was Xcite, an ecommerce platform managed by Alghanim Electronics in Kuwait. Housing 300 globally recognized brands, the project's goals were clear: Migrate from the existing monolithic IT architecture to a future-proof, microservices platform and create a holistic, experience-driven shopping journey. This endeavor extended beyond the digital realm, encompassing various customer touchpoints. The objective was to rejuvenate the brand's promise through compelling content, exceptional customer service and seamless integration across diverse digital channels.

 

To outshine local and global competitors and expand into new markets, Alghanim Industries focused on three critical priorities. First, adopting a microservices platform using the MACH approach promised enhanced performance and scalability. Second, integrating offline and online activities was pivotal in driving conversion rates and cart values. Lastly, the project aimed to cultivate customer loyalty in Kuwait's saturated market while targeting the burgeoning Saudi Arabian market.

Navigating challenges in Kuwait's retail landscape

The project faced significant challenges in Kuwait's complex retail landscape, marked by high mobile sales, cash transactions, underdeveloped last-mile logistics and a need for reliable shopping and delivery experiences. Extensive research efforts, including in-depth interviews, surveys and data analysis, formed the foundation for overcoming these obstacles. A customer-centric approach, identifying pain points and driving forces, informed a strategy rooted in mobile-first and user-first principles. This strategy emphasized high-quality content, user-friendliness, accessibility, intelligent content curation and streamlined calls to action, ensuring users had control and were not overwhelmed by excessive messaging. Remarkably, the entire project was executed from Germany, showcasing the power of global collaboration transcending geographical and time zone constraints.
